Dear Parents,
In light of recent school closures resulting from the public health crisis created by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Compton Unified School District will continue with online learning for all students. Thank you to the many families who already collected the Activity Learning Packets for their students. These packets provide standards-aligned review activities that students can use until devices (computers and/or iPads) are distributed later this week and next week.
We are working very hard to guarantee that all of our students have the tools for learning that they need as soon as possible. You should soon receive notification from your school regarding the best day and time for you to collect the device for your child. It is important that you wait until the school contacts you. At the time of pick-up, families will also be provided with the necessary information to receive free internet connection through outside service providers (if needed) so that their students can operate their devices.
Please do not forget that your child will need to login to their devices before taking them home. If they do not login prior to leaving the school site campus, students will not be able to operate their device. Once our scholars receive their devices, the expectation is that ALL of our students will continue distance learning with the remote support from their teachers and Educational Services.
Please know that we are here to serve you and your students. School continues; the only difference is that we are looking at alternative ways to provide the content to the students. Thank you for all of your collaboration and support at this time.

A la vista del cierre de las escuelas como resultado de la crisis sanitaria creada por el conocido como Novel Coronavius (COVID-19), el Distrito Unificado de Compton continuará con aprendizaje a distancia para todos nuestros estudiantes. Gracias a todas las familias que ya recogieron su Paquete the Actividades de Aprendizaje para sus estudiantes. Estos paquetes de tarea proveen actividades de repaso que los estudiantes pueden utilizar por ahora hasta que reciban su herramienta de aprendizaje (iPad o computadora) esta semana o la semana próxima.
Estamos trabajando para asegurarnos que nuestros estudiantes reciben sus iPads o computadoras lo antes posible. En los próximos días, usted recibirá notificación de su escuela indicando cuándo es el mejor día y hora para recoger este material. Es importante que espere hasta que su escuela contacte con usted. Cuando recoja su iPad o computadora tambien recibirá información sobre aquellas compañías que ofrecen internet de forma gratuita para que sus hijos/as puedan utilizarlos.
Por favor, no olvide que su hijo deberá prender y entrar en su iPad o computadora antes de volver a casa. De no hacerlo, no podrá utilizarla. Una vez que nuestros estudiantes reciban sus iPads o computadora, lo que esperamos es que todos nuestros estudiantes continúen aprendiendo de forma remota con la ayuda de sus maestros y nuestro departamento de Servicios de Educación.
Por favor, queremos que sepan que estamos aquí para servirles a ustedes y sus hijos. La escuela continúa; simplemente estamos buscando nuevas formas de proveer el contenido a los estudiantes. Gracias por su colaboración y apoyo en estos momentos.
