Based on the California Department of Education figures, Compton Unified School District ranked 21st in student achievement measures among 363 other school districts of similar size and student composition. The growth in the District’s Math and English Language Arts scores exceeded both the Los Angeles County and State gains overall, marking outstanding progress in the district’s elevation efforts.

“Have we achieved everything we want to achieve? No, but it is progress. We will continue our work of improving student outcomes,” said Superintendent Dr. Darin Brawley. He went on to thank the staff and Board of CUSD for their partnership and hard work on behalf of all of Compton’s scholars.

“This is truly an important moment in our District’s upward trajectory,” said President Micah Ali. “With that said, we will leave no stone unturned until we have achieved the utmost heights in student outcomes. I am confident we will get there".
