The Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees has approved the 2020 calendar of scheduled Board meetings. Changes include moving meetings from Wednesdays to Tuesdays and meeting once per month. Additional special meetings will be held as needed.

“Being available for our students and families are a priority,” said President Micah Ali about the decision to move the meetings to Tuesday. “With the change in schedule of recognition ceremonies to accommodate the many more students recognized for perfect attendance and outstanding citizenship and achievement, we found ourselves often in the position of Board meetings happening at the same time of student celebrations, such as our quarterly student of the month and student attendance awards. In addition, a number of other school events take place in the evenings and on Wednesdays. We decided to change the schedule in order to be at these outstanding opportunities to support and celebrate our students, teachers and families.”
