Compton Unified School District and our schools are committed to providing accurate and transparent information regarding COVID-19 cases on our campuses, while also maintaining privacy and confidentiality for our students and staff. The data above represents the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among district students and staff on our campuses (in-person instruction only). A confirmed case indicates that a student or staff member who was participating in on-site activities has tested positive for an active COVID-19 infection. This data will be updated regularly as cases are confirmed. In the event of a positive case, school communities will be notified directly by school principals.
In the event of a laboratory confirmed case, staff and parents of students will receive a COVID-19 General Notification letter. This letter will serve to inform the school community of the confirmed case while providing additional guidance on actions that will help us to collectively slow the the spread of COVID-19. When a COVID-19 case is confirmed, contact tracing will be conducted to ensure that all close contacts are notified.
If your child is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 - or has had close contact with someone with COVID-19 - it must be reported to your school office. Please call the office to speak directly with your child's principal. The principal will provide you with the next steps, based on guidance from the Department of Public Health's protocol for K-12 schools.
