Proposition 39

Work Image

We at the Compton Unified School District is excited to inform you that construction has begun for the Prop 39 work that will greatly improve the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Units (HVAC). It is our focus to provide a positive and functional school environment for our students throughout this construction project.

It is also our goal to assure that this has little impact on our community during this construction process. We anticipate there will be little to no disturbances during this project.

Approved by the California voters in 2012, Prop 39 (the California Clean Energy Jobs Act) is a State grant program which allocate s revenue to local education agencies to support energy efficiency projects. Through Prop 39, Compton Unified School District (CUSD) will receive funds over a five year period to implement projects that improve energy efficiency in the District's existing buildings. The projects are predicted to significantly reduce energy use in existing building systems on 5 campuses and will focus on lighting, HVAC systems, controls, and plumbing.
