Partner Information Update March 9

  • WiFi at the Dollarhide Community Center can be less than optimal when in high demand. If you will require WiFi, please bring your own hotspot. CUSD will have a limited number of hotspots available, so please request our assistance as early as possible so we can help make this resource available.
  • Compton USD will be extremely active on social media for this event and we hope our partners will be as well. Please consider posting on Twitter, Facebook and/or LinkedIn with #STEAMFest18 . If you'd like, reply to this email with your preferred social media handle/account so we can feature your organization/company in upcoming posts about STEAMFest.
  • You'll be joining a fantastic group of companies and organizations that are supporting STEAM education in Compton Unified, including (partial list): Apple, Boeing, Google, Pizza Studio Compton, PBS SoCal, 9 Dots, Starbucks, BASE (Architects of the Dollarhide Center), Center for Innovation in STEM Education – CSUDH, Home Depot, Discovery Education, LACMA, Charles Drew University, Hacker Fund, Carrot Group, Formative and Liberty Utilities.

 Update April 11

  • We are currently working on making booth location assignments at the Dollarhide and will be attempting to accommodate your requests. Be on the lookout for your booth location assignment around two weeks before the event.
  • Wifi and Powerstrips: Wifi at the Dollarhide is less than optimal when in high demand. If your activity will require wifi access, please bring your own hotspot. If you indicated that your activity needs power, your booth will be situated so you will have access. Please bring your own power strip to plug in.
  • CUSD will be launching a social media campaign for STEAMFest. Please feature your participation and support for Compton students by posting the attached flyer on your social media accounts with the hashtag #STEAMFest18.
  • The Dollarhide Center will be open to partners for set up beginning at 11:00 a.m. on May 24th. Please plan to have your booth set up and ready for young minds to engage by 2:30 p.m. (The event doors will open promptly at 3:00 p.m.) If you need more than 3 1/2 hours to set up, please contact Jeff Harris ([email protected]) right away.
  • Free parking is available at the Dollarhide parking structure next to the building. If several members of your team are participating, please consider carpooling so more spaces are available for participating families.
  • Feel free to invite your company's/organization's key stakeholders. The event is open to the public and it is a great way to showcase your involvement in the community.
  • We will provide water and a snack pack for your team members that will be volunteering at your booth.
