The goal is to expose students to the importance of computer science ,in their daily lives and for college and career opportunities! . Last year was an amazing event and this year will be even better! The hope is that each partner will provide an interactive activity ,involving computer science and/or robotics to inspire students to pursue computer science careers.
In celebration of Computer Science Education Week (December 9 – 15th), the Educational Technology Department will host its third annual Scratch Coding Competition on December 10, 2019.
- Scratch Registration, click here and register by November 1st!
- The objective of this competition is for students in grades 4-8th grade to showcase the application of 21st Century skills in the creation of an animated project using the Scratch block-based coding program. During the competition, the students’ project will be judged by individuals from the technology industry. Every year the judges are impressed with the quality of the students’ projects and we hope to impress them once again this year.
- If a school would like to request coaching on how to use Scratch, feel free to make a coaching request on the EdTech website. The Educational Technology Department looks forward to see what the students will create this year using their coding skills.
