STEAMFest Partner Information 2019

STEAMFest is just two short weeks away! We’re expecting over 7,000 excited students, parents, educators and community members to experience over 80 different school and partner STEAM booths as well as our Meet the Masters Art Show and Gifted and Talented Education Expo! Feel free to share about your participation on social media using #STEAMFest19! And share the event website/registration bit.ly/cusdsteam. You can also send photos of your team or other content and we’ll share in our social media campaign!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Please find your booth location on the attached map by using the legend to find your booth number. IMPORTANT: You may need to bring a canopy if outside!  If you have questions or concerns about your booth location, please contact Robert Broome ([email protected]) as soon as possible so we can ensure that the event runs smoothly for everyone.
  • BRING
    • If you are outside you may want a canopy
    • Wifi- If you need wifi it is best to bring a hotspot. Wifi is limited at the facility
    • Extension cord/power strip if you requested power
    • Snacks and water will be available for your volunteers and they will be provided  with a wrist band for 2 food items
  • Arrival Time and Check-in procedure  on May 23: 8-1: 30 pm
    • Please check in at the Partner Booth Check-In Table at the entrance to the Dollarhide Center on Tamarind Avenue before you unload.
    • You will be given a packet of information for the day. 
    • We will direct you to the best place (closest access to your booth) to unload your booth materials.
    • You will receive badges for your organization’s representatives.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Please join “Remind” our mass texting system that will allow us to send messages to all partner booths with any important announcements. Register by clicking remind.com/join/steamfest See instructions below and attached.

    • In case of crowd overflow, we will send a message using this system to ask all booths to suspend activity for 15 minutes to allow for safety officials to allow for crowd management. We will use this texting system for messages in case of an emergency during the event.
    • Make sure that the name and cell phone number of your organization are on-site contact for the day of the event is listed correctly on the attached summary sheet. If this is not the on-site representative, please email Jeff Harris ([email protected])

JOIN THE  FUN!

  • Be on the lookout for Star Wars Characters! Costumed characters will be roaming STEAMFest so be on the lookout for Darth Vader, Princess Leia and many others. The theme of STEAMFest is “Space” in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission.

INSTRUCTIONS TO JOIN REMIND - THE TEXT MESSAGING SYSTEM FOR USE AT STEAMFEST

  1. Register by clicking remind.com/join
  2. Join by entering name and number - you will be removed after STEAMFEST
  3. Enter Code sent to your phone
  4. Once you enter the code you are added to our emergency text list. YOU DO NOT have to add a student or any other role, close the window.  
    • This will be used only for communication during STEAMFEST -- Your information will be removed from the system after the event.
