Attendance

District Attendance Expectations: Pursuant to CA Education Code 48200, every person between the ages of 6 and 18 years is subject to compulsory full-time education. Education is an opportunity and a right. Regular attendance is a key factor in academic learning and ensures a student’s success in school. CUSD expects each student to attend at school for 98% of the school year.

Truancy: A student is considered truant after three (3) absences or three tardies of more than 30 minutes each time or any combination thereof and the absences or tardies are unexcused.

Chronic Absenteeism: A student is considered a chronic absentee when he/she is absent on 10%or more of the school days in one school year, from the date of enrollment to the current date.
