To make certain students are supported during the closure and staff are clear as to how staffing will work, Human Resources Department has been working diligently to ensure that necessary staff are available and receive instructions on when they are “on duty” during shut down.
Our priority during this shut down is to certain that when our students and all staff return, we are ready to continue the great work and service provided prior to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
Staff has also been on hand to respond to calls from all members of the community, including staff and parents, regarding our efforts to ensure efficient District operations and safety.
We have been meeting with all of our labor partners in an effort to together establish expectations as we navigate this as a team, placing the needs of students at the center.
Although the details of the district’s response continue to evolve based on directives from local government agencies, some frequently asked questions are:
How will employees be notified of when they are on “on duty” status?
Employees can expect to receive instructions from their immediate supervisor on when to report.
What if I am 65 years old, do I need to report to work, based on the Governor’s recommendation?
If an you are an employee falls within the recommended age range or have medical conditions requiring them to self-isolate, you should follow the Governor’s orders and any recommendations provided by your health care provider.
We want to thank our Nutrition Services Staff who have been out at our seven sites making sure students and other youth in Compton have access to breakfast and lunch.
We want to also thank our administrators, secretaries, and instructional technology teams, and other staff who have also been working hard to ensure that students have the opportunity to maintain continuity of learning during the shut down.
If anyone is in need of additional information, we encourage them to visit the District website at https://www.compton.k12.ca.us where information is updated regularly or they may contact the Human Resources Department directly at (310) 639-4321 ext. 55041 or 55075.
