Dear Compton Unified School District Families,

Our district continues to partner with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Office of Education to plan the restart of the new school year.

Today we participated in a call with these agencies, along with school districts across the county, to understand the most up-to-date guidelines and considerations for a safe reopening of schools.

We were pleased to have heard on this call, the news that all school districts may proceed with opening the new school year with entirely in-person instruction. As Compton Unified continues its planning efforts, although guidelines could change, we anticipate our protocols to include:

• Full day, on-campus, in-person instruction
• Infection control
• Masking
• Social distancing
• Outbreak management
• District-wide Safety Plan
• Vaccination
• …and other measures

We will keep you informed as plans become firm. Thank you for your patience. We STILL look forward to seeing your Compton Scholars the first day of school on August 19, 2021.
